Design: Hard - Finnicky prism aiming. Credits saved from compaction and crew optimization fund luxuries like extra ions and EMP.
Piloting: Moderate - Huge thrusters really don't do you any favors when you're trying to aim a beam precisely at long range.
Top Speed: 87.3 m/s forwards and backwards.
Simple ion ship based on Quix's ion ship based on Saris's ion ship. Has 28 emitters funneled into 7 outputs with a long-range focus. Central prisms are placed and spaced to mitigate splash damage in case the barrel is breached. This contingency is rare enough that you'll probably do just as well moving the prisms upwards for slightly better range, though the difference is so marginal I doubt it makes much difference either way.
EMP is a tech choice against other ships with large shields. Kite when possible to keep their aim true - sometimes this will make opponents turn to prevent direct hits. At close range
EMP is much less reliable; only with great luck will it take out engines or exposed CRs. Don't count on it making much difference.
This version has some operator quarters on portions of the ship separate from their assignments. They take time to travel to their posts, so this specific iteration of the ship isn't viable if the starting distance is set to short and your opponent doesn't feel like waiting.
